Seedbeads and Pearls!

Pearls and seed beads:  Am still working on samples for the Creative Jewellery show, Nov 8.  In addition to the beading loom (Bracelets from yesterday), we will also have the ‘Spin and thread’ seedbead threader!  Here is just one of the pieces I completed today

Altogether 12 strands of beads were twisted together, including two shades of black 11/0 seed beads, pearlised 11/0 seed beads, 11/0 and 6/0 silver metallic seedbeads  and pearls.

Seedbeads on Creative Jewellery Show – 8 November – 2pm

There will be two Creative Jewellery shows on Nov 8.  In the 2pm show we will be featuring seedbeads and some amazing things you can do with them.  Below are some examples of what I made with the seedbead loom and the choice of seedbead kits we will have.  Join us on Tuesday the 8th of November at 10am and 2pm GMT!

Sparkling Earrings

These earrings took 15 minutes to make using faceted Czech crystals, glass pearls, diamante spacers and findings from the Bijoux by Me ‘Mega findings and 3-in-1 tool kit’.  A real bargain, check it out on www.bijouxbyme.co.uk

Elephants Charm Bracelet

Been working on the last few projects for the book and got carried away!  I had these gorgeous elephant charms and had to find a way to use them…  Not quite finished but wanted to share the work in progress!

Three strands of chain (from Bijoux by Me‘s CHAIN & FINDINGS kit) were woven together then loaded with jade chips (supplied by Solid Oak).  Will probably add either some Bali silver beads or some sort of black beads or maybe both?!!

A close up that shows the three strands of chain and the jade chips…

Diamante Spacers

Diamante spacers and faceted Czech crystals add sparkle to this necklace of floating glass pearls.  All beads and findings from Bijoux by Me – check out their special offers at:  www.bijouxbyme.co.uk

Simple elegance!

Pearls and Sparkle!

Using tigertail and crimp beads is one of the easiest ways of creating a necklace.  With the use of beautiful beads, it doesn’t look simple or plain at all!!  All materials are from Bijoux by Me.  I used Cream and Charcoal glass pearls, Czech clear faceted crystal beads, silver metallised seed beads and silver diamante spacers.  Tigertail and findings from their Silver findings kit.

Perfect for day or evening with creamy glass pearls, sparkling faceted crystals and diamante spacers.

Mixed Metals!

I needed to make something using as many of the metal spacer beads from Solid Oak, so here you have, nearly every style in both antiqued silver and brass.  Mixed with glass pearls from Bijoux by Me, it turned out quite nice!!

Wear with silver or gold and almost any outfit!

Love these shell beads!

Wire Connectors with Bali-style beads

Having learned to do the rudimentary basics of working with Beadalon’s Advanced Wire Wrapping kit, featured om QVC’s Creative Jewellery show last week, I wanted to experiment with some ideas of my own.  Below I made a connector using German-style wire and Bali-style metal beads from Solid Oak.

The more I practice, the better I get!

The full necklace is made with metalised faceted beads by Bijoux by Me.

Faceted Sparkle!

I thought these amethyst beads would look great with the new plum colours that seem to be hitting the high street this season.

This is an extra long length – perfect with a plain, ‘little black dress’!

I used a bead cap with several lengths of chain to make a tassel, another fashion favourite!!

Advanced Wire Wrapping on QVC UK!

Check out the wonderful ‘Wire Wrapping’ kits on the QVC website!  Both the Beginners and Advanced kits by Beadalon, feature a booklet by master wire wrapper, Wyatt White, with marvellous ‘step-by-step’ photos for each technique.  They are excellent – I managed to teach myself how do do all the projects included!!  Kits also include a selection of wires in silver and gold clour (and copper in the case of the advanced kit) to get you started.  All you need to add are the beads!  And look at the LUSH stones I encased using the advanced kit!  The Turquoise is from the Large mix of Turquoise by Bijoux by Me!  Amazing value for REAL turquoise!!

Not bad for a beginner!  This is after only one day playing with the wire and teaching myself from Wyatt’s excellent step-by-step photos!  I love the way the copper wire picks out the  markings of this gorgeous oval Turqoise stone!

Not quite as good as the previous one – but not a bad attempt!!  But I put it on so you could see the gorgeous shape and markings of this turquoise stone!  The silver wire gives it a more subtle focus.

I need to work on the curly cues but again, I wanted to show off the beautiful stone and yet another shape!
